Cationic Flotation Reagents

Cationic flotation reagents are positively charged collectors generally used in the flotation of silica, the most common gangue mineral, under neutral pH conditions. Cationic collectors were also developed for pegmatite flotation mostly under acidic conditions. Physical adsorption mechanisms prevail here. Most cationics produced in-house are based upon condensation reactions of fatty acids and various amine compounds. Examples are bisamidoamines derived from polyethylenepolyamines and various imidazoline derivatives. Most products are custom formulated for specific ore bodies and flotation process conditions to deliver optimum recovery and grade.
